It's hard to beat swimming when it comes to a sport that strengthens the body, soothes the mind, regulates breathing, stimulates circulation and puts no stress on the joints all in one. Unlike running or weight training, which concentrate on specific muscle groups, swimming benefits the upper body, torso and legs together and is one of the fastest ways to improve general strength, stamina and cardiovascular fitness.

“...I propose great things for inspection and contemplation by every explorer of Nature,” wrote the famous astronomer Galileo Galilei in 1610 after probing the heavens with his crude, self-made telescope. Those “great things” he mentioned are still up there, ready for today’s budding astronomers young and old to inspect and contemplate.

Even though NITROX has been used by the NOAH and NAVY divers for over thirty six years, the sport diving industry has just come to accept NITROX in the last few years as a safe gas for the recreational SCUBA diver.

NITROX is becoming readily available at dive stores
and resorts throughout the world.

Just like any new technology there have been misunderstandings about NITROX gas and how it will be used and misused by sport divers.

LEARN ABOUT NEW EQUIPMENT!

NITROX for normal sport diver depths is definitely a safer gas to use, with less uptake of nitrogen and faster offgasing during safety stops. You will be able to stay down longer, and get back into the water quicker between dives as well as do more dives per day. During this class you will find out how simple it is to incorporate new ideas and technology with your existing diving system.

Many of your present diving activities will be enhanced with the added safety and longer bottom times. Think how much more fun you will have taking pictures and exploring the underwater world!

LEARN NEW TERMINOLOGY!

This class is designed to enhance dive planning skills that you already have and incorporate NITROX into them. The class is taught in one session where you will learn dive planning, Enriched Air Cylinder filling protocols and practice gas analysis procedures. The class has an optional two open water dives that can be completed on any of our trips with the instructor. These dives will allow you to use this class as a SPECIALTY class towards Advanced Open Water certification. You will also receive a credit for two rental NITROX tanks. This way you can practice your NITROX dive planning and have an opportunity to dive NITROX!

Sounds too good to be true? Sign up now for the new specialty class and learn about the gas that will make your diving safer.

Included in the cost of the class: Theory class session, two rental NITROX tanks, SSI NITROX certification diploma and certification card.
