ARE YOU TIRED OF GETTING COLD AND HAVING TO END YOUR DIVE
BEFORE YOU WANT TO ? THEN THIS CLASS IS FOR YOU !!
Just because the water's cold doesn't mean you have to
be. Get out of that cold wetsuit and get into a warm comfortable
drysuit. Drysuit's in just the last ten years have evolved
into one of the most practical pieces of diving equipment
to own. People diving the new fabric dry suits have found
that it is easier to get in and out of the suit and that
freedom of movement is increased. Because the suits are
thin and flexible you can dive your dry suit in any water
condition. You no longer have to suffer from cold water
while trying to enjoy the clear early spring dives and if
you enjoy diving the Caribbean you will find them very enjoyable
there also. Drysuit's in other words have evolved into the
universal suit.
Since many of you are interested in gaining more information
on drysuit's we have added the DRYSUIT
SPECIALTY CLASS as part of our advanced training
program. This class is broken into three sections; theory,
pool practice and open water. This class will qualify as
one of the specialties necessary for certification levels
2 or 3.
A drysuit like any diving equipment does require some practice
to become proficient in its use and care. This class gives
you an overview of different types of drysuit's and options
so you can see how easily, they will work with your style
of diving. Plus we cover, diving techniques and how to care
and maintain a drysuit system.

Hello Dry Suit Divers:
In preparation for your upcoming
DRY SUIT SPECIALTY CLASS here is some additional
class information. To start with your class is based around
the famous home study system. Which means that that when
paying your deposit for the class you will need to buy the
SSI DIVING DRY video and "DRY
SUIT DIVING" manual by Steve Barsky.
We will supply for your pool and open water dives the following
equipment: tanks-air fills, drysuit (with insulation, hood,
low pressure inflator hose, fins (if yours don't fit) and
any extra lead that you need). Remember for the pool you
will be diving dry so you will not need a swimming suit,
instead you will want to supply a light weight sweat shirt
and sweat pants with socks to wear under the dry suit shell.
The pool water is 83-85 degrees so we do not need thermal
insulation just a barrier to keep the suit from squeezing
you and to absorb moisture from perspiration.
You have the option of diving your suit with wet gloves
that you already own or we have latex dry gloves and insulation
liners that you can buy. If you opt to use the latex dry
gloves we will supply the mounting and sealing rings for
your suit.
Theory class begins, 5:30PM at Donovan's
Pool class in the same night, 8:00pm, Sioux Valley Wellness,
pool
The two open water dives are scheduled with each class or
can be finished on any of our dive trips and outings.
Part of your class cost is for suit
rental $39, for those of you that have already purchased
your dry suit you will be able to deduct this amount from
the class. For those of you wanting to buy a dry diving
system you will be able to deduct $39 from the cost of your
new suit!
I look forward to diving warm comfortable
and dry with you!
